—Brings Culinary Passion, Business Acumen to Kitchen —

(ENGLEWOOD, Colo.) – The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center named Jon Demel as its new executive chef.

Demel, who comes to The Inverness from the Westin Tabor Center in Denver, brings more than 10 years of culinary expertise to the position. He will be responsible for menu development for the Inverness’ five distinct dining experiences, as well as banquet dining, in-room service and providing healthy food options for conference attendees.

In addition to his skills in the kitchen, Demel has a deep understanding of the business aspects as well.

“Jon’s background is diverse and well-rounded, both from a culinary and a professional standpoint,” said Mark Secker, director of food and beverage at The Inverness. “We’re thrilled to have Jon on board and our guests will enjoy his stylized approach to the varied cuisine The Inverness offers.”

Demel is looking forward to the challenge of keeping his large, talented staff focused and plans to evolve the conference and banquet menus at The Inverness with the seasons, as well as keeping them at the forefront of innovation. “They will be aligned with current industry trends but enhanced with ‘The Inverness Difference,’” he said.

The opportunity to guide the continued success of Baca, The Inverness’ casually upscale dining experience that features authentic Colorado cuisine with a Spanish flair is something that is particularly exciting to Demel. “It’s a great opportunity to explore Colorado’s native ingredients and cultural history,” he said. “When you build on that foundation, it’s hard to go wrong.”

A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Demel currently resides in Westminster, Colo.
