A truly unique event on the American Junior Golf Association's schedule, the biennial PING Junior Solheim Cup was inaugurated in 2002. The event follows a similar format to The Solheim Cup and features the top 12 U.S. amateur girls versus their European counterparts. The event is held over two days with six fourball and six foursomes matches followed by 12 singles matches the second day.

The United States won the inaugural event in 2002 and the match series currently stands at 3-2-1 in favour of the Americans who have never lost on home soil.

The Inverness Golf Club will proudly host the 2013 event.
