(Englewood, CO.) - The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center named Mark Secker as its new Director of Food and Beverage.
Secker will be responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations for The Inverness' five distinctive restaurants, three bars and more than 60,000 square feet of meeting space and outdoor venues. Prior to joining the Inverness, Secker was in charge of a $13 million food and beverage operation at Oak Brook Hills Resort and Conference Center in Oak Brook, Ill.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., Secker has more than 25 years of hospitality experience as both a chef and a manager. He was director of catering operations at the four-star Princeville Resort in Hawaii, managing a staff of 43, three restaurants and 24-hr room service. Secker also served as executive chef at the Westin O'Hare in Chicago and executive sous chef at Silverado Country Club and Resort in Napa, Calif.

Secker said that he is especially looking forward to the challenges of meeting the culinary needs of more than 750 meetings and events per year. "Variety is key," Secker said of feeding conference guests. "Usually they're her for three or four days at a time, so coming up with new and different items helps to make sure that they have a great food experience."
During his career, Secker has appeared on Food Network and PBS' "Culinary Travels with Dave Eckard." A native of Chicago, he recently moved to Denver with his wife from Hinsdale, Ill.
